Don't Forget About Cardio

So, you got yourself a great workout routine followed by plenty of sleep, and you’ve gotten accustomed to making yourself healthy meals, but now what? Well There’s one more thing left master if you want to build muscle and stay in shape, that’s cardio. Cardio is extremely important when considering the overall health of your body. Most people believe that because they look good in the mirror they can ignore cardio; this is a big mistake.

You see it’s important to get the heart pumping and blood flowing to help rid your body of those unwanted toxins. Start by going for brief jogs on the treadmill or around the neighborhood. Slowly build up your speed and time spent running until you no longer feel winded even after a long run. You’ll be surprised just how out of shape you really are when you go for a long run. Don’t worry through practice and consistency you’ll be doing laps nonstop! Also, don’t limit yourself to just running try other cardio exercises such as swimming. Swimming is a great way to get some cardio in to your routine. Not only will you get quite winded but you’ll also be working out a lot of muscles such as your laterals and chest. This way you can knock several things out at one. Another good way to get your cardio done is by biking.

I love biking trails and being out in nature as it distracts me from feeling tired or just having to do some exercise routine. Plan a nice day of blazing trails, maybe even joining or start a bicycling club to keep yourself and others motivated. Just make sure your getting enough cardio throughout the week to supplement your rigorous lifting routine. Keep all aspects of your body healthy and don’t just focus on trying to build muscles. You might look healthy on the outside but if you can’t even make it up a simple flight of stairs without running out of breath then something is clearly wrong.

Also, as I’ve stated before when trying to lose weight you have to focus more on cardio because your goal is to burn as many calories as possible whilst those who are trying to gain weight don’t need to worry as much. Still cardio is necessary for all so don’t neglect it! Ok check back later for my post detailing some new exercises for those of you who are ready to move on to more advanced techniques.
